The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio having provided over 57 million meals in 2018 to hungry people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland and Richland counties. The organization’s mission is to ensure that everyone in these communities has the nutritious food they need every day.

Company History
In 1979, a group of civic-minded individuals joined together to create the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, an innovative method for confronting the critical issue of hunger in our community. Some of these people represented the food industry and expressed concern about the large amount of nutritious food going to waste each day. Others stood on the front lines in the fight against hunger, and worried about the limited supply of food available to feed the hungry.
Forty years later, the Food Bank has evolved into an organization that not only serves as a link between food donors and agencies in need, but also provides meals to those in need in many different ways. Through special programs that include direct distribution of produce, mobile pantries, the preparation of meals and education for member agencies, we have significantly broadened what we are able to do for the community. Additionally, food stamp outreach has become an important way that we are able to provide meals for eligible clients in need. Growth and innovation are hallmarks of the organization and we will be continually seeking new ways to do what we do better.
